Building Bridges with Rwanda is a non-profit society based in Vancouver. Our mission is two-pronged: to foster sustainable development in Rwanda and promote community engagement events designed to educate, engage and inspire Canadian audiences in learning about Rwanda's development model. BBR is launching a social media platform called Baraza which will also deliver immersive educational content. We are seeking a talented and result-oriented virtual reality specialist that will work on developing the virtual reality showrooms and meeting centre for the organization. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support a Virtual Reality space to be used by BBR and Baraza stakeholders.

  • Create and improve tools/processes (as well as adhering to them) to support the development.

  • Continuously test, debug, document, analyze, and optimize the VR space with/without VR headset, and contribute to a team with creative solutions to move the project forward.

  • Problem solve and identify roadblocks to successfully accomplish tasks given during weekly meetings, as well as maintain clear documentation and comments in 3D model files for future development.

  • Maintains close relationships with clients, sponsors and project team throughout the production process.

  • Establishes, coordinates, and manages project timelines, VR equipment requirements and bookings, testing requirements and releases, and locations.

  • Delivers project on budget and within the timeframe while meeting client’s objectives and expectations. Evaluate project effectiveness with clients.

  • Investigates VR production hardware/software to determine availability, performance and compatibility with existing equipment for instructional, informational or marketing purposes.

  • Keeps informed about trends in VR through ongoing professional development. 

  • Ensures production equipment is serviced and maintained in good working order.

  • Orders and maintains a comprehensive equipment inventory and stock library of HDR images. 



  • Proven experience with Unity (Unreal engine is an asset)

  • Portfolio of previous 3D and VR development

  • Experience with electronics is considered an asset

  • Working knowledge with either HTC and/or Oculus

  • Experience in creating 3d environments

Education & Profile

  • Computer Science, Interaction Design, or related Degree

  • Game creating experience is an asset

  • Experience in VR/AR is an asset

  • Creative

  • Ability to work independently

  • Willingness to learn and improve
